About The Artwork
Michael Pollare graduated with a degree in Earth Sciences. He incorporates all the disciplines - Geography, Paleontology, Oceanography, and Geology into his bronzes. He casts all his work at his foundry, Bronze Plus, Inc. in Santa Rosa, California. MUNICH was cast in 2016. It served first as a fountain, and the artist converted it to a free-standing sculpture. The artist chose to leave the water flow residue on the original patina. The patina is derived from oyster shell. This is a unique piece - only 1 made, and is part cast, part fabricated. This piece was designed to be lit by votive candles in certain areas for heightened effects. Candles not included. The dimensions include the base. Additional photos of this piece are available.
