Hi there! My name is Serhii Galenko. I am a modern Ukrainian ceramist and designer, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Now I will tell you a little about myself and about our creative family studio «Galenko Ceramics». I was born on August 15, 1988 in Kyiv (Ukraine). In 2011 I graduated from the National Academy of Management of Culture and Arts, majoring in "landscape design". After working for several years in the specialty, I decided to leave landscape design and continue the creative traditions of my father Marko Galenko, namely, to master the profession of ceramist. My father is a famous Ukrainian ceramist with 30 years of experience. A few words about my father… Marko Galenko a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Born on July 27, 1957 in the village Didovschina, Kyiv region. In 1990, he graduated from art-graphic faculty of the Odessa National Pedagogical University. Since 1978 worked as an artist in the Directorate "Kyivproekt" collaborated with different publishers, as a graphic artist. In 1988 - one of the founders of the company "Honchari", later founder of the artistic enterprise "Gryphon". More than 20 years teaching children skills crafts ceramics in high school №109 named after Taras Shevchenko in Kyiv. Participated in more than 100 national, international exhibitions, plein air, symposiums. My acquaintance with clay happened in childhood, long before I decided to become a professional ceramist. My father's workshop was in the school where I studied. At breaks, I ran to him to rest, have a bite, and after school I worked part-time. It turns out that I grew up in a creative atmosphere, surrounded by ceramic works. Since 2013, I consciously came to work for my father in the workshop, and from that moment a new family workshop Galenko Ceramics was born. In 2015, my future wife Daria Galenko came to work in our studio. She brought inspiration, new emotions, and a distinctive artistic style to our workshop. Daria is a talented artist and professional ceramist. She was born on February 16, 1992 in Kremenchug. In 2015 she graduated from the Poltava National University Yuri Kondratyuk, majoring in fine and ceramic arts. When working on joint projects, where together with Daria and my father we cannot cope, my mother Natalya Galenko and brother Evgeny Galenko come to our aid.
