When asked what he would do if he couldn’t be an artist José Soler says: “I would ask myself what is preventing me from becoming one.” An engineer by training, an artist by profession. I have developed my skills and passions with steel in my own workshop, where I work as an architect and designer, hence my artistic inspirations. My work focuses on the investigation of gestural abstraction through steel, metal and volume, creating forms and living pieces, which result in compositions full of harmony, light and personality. I understand art as a way of transmitting emotions through geometry. Turning cold steel into sculpture is my way of collecting what cannot be seen but only felt. Thanks to having my own workshop and large-scale machinery, I can shape any piece of steel, creating spectacular, unique and personal works. De formación ingeniero, de profesión artista. He desarrollado mis habilidades y pasiones con el acero dentro mi propio taller, donde trabajo como arquitecto y diseñador, de ahí nacen mis inspiraciones artísticas. Mi obra se centra en la investigación de la abstracción gestual a través del acero, del metal y el volumen, creando formas y piezas vivas, que dan como resultado composiciones llenas de armonía, luz y personalidad. Entiendo el arte como una manera de transmitir emociones a través de la geometría. Convertir el frío acero en escultura es mi forma de recoger aquello que no puede verse solo sentirse. Gracias a contar con taller propio y maquinaria de gran envergadura puedo dar forma a cualquier pieza de acero, creando obras espectaculares, únicas y personales.
