ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Random Attraction (on black) belongs to a series of hand made paper works that combine magnets and iron to the pulp to create maps of attraction and deterioration. This piece was made with crushed black magnets added to black paper pulp. Once the paper was dry it was coated with iron filings to reveal its random pattern. The framing also became an integral part of the piece with a round mat opening chosen to reference geomagnetic presence. This artwork is currently on loan to The Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Canada.
