Sculpture: Paper mache, Paint, Interactive, Wood on Cardboard, Paper, Wood.
Years ago during an all expenses paid hiatus in Southeast Asia courtesy of the government, I started noticing little roadside shrines or altars. They seemed to be devoted to religious figures, perhaps a place to offer a prayer. They were often decorated with flowers. Then in the states they started showing up along roadsides in remembrance of passed loved ones. I found a few in New Mexico honoring pets (even a goldfish). Meditation Shrine #14 is made from recycled wood and paper mache and then painted. The offering bowl/ incense burner is brass. All my work is original and one of a kind. I will never duplicate it. It is part of my Rustic Deco line of furniture that I've been making since 1990.
