About The Artwork
This smaller piece is perfect for your desktop or coffee table as it begs to be seen from all sides. It was first created by laminating three pieces of reclaimed wood, aligning the grain at different angles. This gives the piece some interesting movement. The wood was carved and shaped to give it a unique flow and smoothness. It was then lightly stained to give it a nice shine and pop. The metal rods were hand bent and designed to add an extra layer of color and movement. The lower, blue, metal also acts as a stand. NOTE: The plinth is not included in the purchase and is for display purposes only.

Based north of Seattle, WA USA, Brett is a painter and sculptor. Generally considered abstract, my painting explores the relationship between immediacy in action and gestural movements across the canvas. Works are built up of layers of oil paints, opaque and translucent, mark making with pastel and charcoal, creating depth and a discovery of something new with each viewing. As a sculptor I work across a range of mediums from stone to metal and wood, occasionally combing them all into a single piece. Sculptures are often raw and industrial, rarely traditionally perfect, with a specific passion towards texture, movement and flow. Brett has sold works all over the world and is in many private collections.
