http://www.sabineblaskoart.com I am a representative of figurative expressionism for painting and object art, a visual storyteller about people and their environment. Her emotions and empathy expressed in facial expressions and gestures are subjectively staged ..... Art Projects Figurative Paintings, 3-D-Paintings / Object-Mosaic-Collages / Assemblages / Sculptures The German visual artist, Sabine Blasko, has been working full time as a fashion designer within the garment industry for many years. She does enjoy the challenges her profession as a designer offers her, but she also feels an inner need to pursue the more personal and creative interests of painting, creating object collages and sculpting. Her art is influenced by her fashion background; examples of which would involve photographs of gestures, faces, bodies or fashion and the translation of them into her own expressions using a colourful painting technique and the production of them in larger format. She is greatly influenced by the expressionists, such as Max Beckmann, and also the cubistic period of Pablo Picasso and the art of Frida Kahlo and Lolita Lempicka.. She therefore uses a 'colour mix brush' technique with a lot of dark and light shadow contrasts. For her object mosaic collages and sculptures she uses textile materials such as fabric patches and accessories such as buttons, pearls, rhinestones, sequins, or simply materials from our daily life that she has selected and collected as being of interesting shape, structure or colour. Her paintings and object art sculptures could tell stories; the faces and people could invite the observer to dive into the expressed emotion or simply to think about it !
