Sculpture: Glass, Metal, Enamel on Glass, Other.
Inspiration: Summertime is the inspiration, where flowers blossom and butterflies are thriving and fluttering around the garden and backyard. And the moment is captured as they gather around a sculpture and on a glass bowl filled with glistening water for a cool respite from the summer heat. Rose-gold and baby blue butterflies are used here. They are gathering and fluttering in a spiral manner against a copper wire sculpture that holds a glass bowl at the top.
Style: My oriental heritage is infused with clashing colours with subtle colours that spurs the chinoiserie (parisian-oriental derived) style. I am also passionate about art nouveau style, hence the use of butterflies for this one.
Display Information: Sculpture can be displayed/viewed at all angles but best angle is the side with the butterflies congregating at the top and base. In this way, the 'spiral' of the butterflies can also be seen and admired clearly.
Structure: Copper structure is sturdy and stiff using multi-technique copper wire sculpture. Butterflies are stiff and will not move. Will not tarnish.
Usage: This art creation is multi-function. It is primarily used for indoor decoration on table tops, shelves, tea table, mantel display or where relevant for admiration. This art piece also has other functions. The glass bowl that comes with the sculpture can be used to put or potpourri or battery-operated candlelights. Bowl is dishwasher safe, but cannot be used in microwave and over stove. You may also remove the glass bowl to use the sculpture as it is. Please note, we do not have replacement for the bowl, as this is a vintage bowl, one-of-a-kind. Please handle with care.
