Yamaguchi's latest series features meticulously crafted stainless steel plates, each one a testament to his unique forging technique. The polished surfaces of these works create a mesmerizing reflectiveness, evoking the tranquil and timeless quality of a still water mirror. This polished finish is not merely an aesthetic choice but a deliberate effort to imbue the pieces with an immaterial essence, inviting viewers to engage with them on a deeper, almost meditative level. Inspiration and Concept: Inspired by the fluidity of natural forms and the dynamic nature of life itself, Yamaguchi's work explores the tension between material permanence and ephemeral beauty. The forging technique used in these pieces is central to their conception. By manipulating the steel’s molecules from within rather than altering the form externally, Yamaguchi aims to capture a sense of organic transformation and internal movement. The process reflects a dialogue between the artist and the material, wherein the steel’s inherent properties are coaxed into revealing their latent potential. Viewer Experience: Yamaguchi hopes that viewers will be moved by the subtle interplay of reflection and form. The polished, almost liquid quality of the surface invites contemplation and introspection, encouraging viewers to perceive the artwork as a living entity rather than a static object. Beneath the surface, one might sense the nascent droplets of life, suggesting a pulse akin to that of a developing fetus or dividing cells. This metaphorical representation of life’s beginnings and its potential for transformation is designed to evoke a profound emotional response and inspire reflections on existence and growth.

I was born in Tokyo 1963. living in israel since 1992. Listening to my inspiration rises and new creation appears, becoming alive. Metal can be transformed in endless ways. It is brought from the depth of the earth and is formed by fire, air and water. The process of its creation contains all the elements of life. I discovered joy and freedom in Metal art since my studies at Art high school and Tamagawa University in Tokyo, Japan. Through creativity I could find myself. I appreciate that after 30 years of working in metal still excited to experiment with metal endless possibilities: forging, design, kinetic sculptures, environmental art, figurative and abstract forms etc. A new dimension of metal that I explore recently is sound.creating musical instruments and performing since 2001. my vision is to unite all art media- Form, material, rhythm and movement in my creation and I would like to share it with you!
