VIEW IN MY ROOM
Any idea how difficult it is to take a mold of a full nude at university? Getting the model was the easy part. But regulations screening, room bookings etc.. urgh! What started only a few days before Christmas 2018, and took about a month and half into the new year I finally had it, painted and lacquered, The artwork is made of expanding foam to create the melting exposed aesthetic at the back evoking thoughts of deterioration. As can also be seen in the way that the fingers are broken. Both of these areas are painted with gouache and have a matt finish and have more exaggerated cracks in the paint, as opposed to the main body of the sculpture. This is painted in acrylic has a satin finish. Finished with a satin lacquer to protect from damage and UV.
