OUR JOURNEYS (A COLLECTION) Sculpture

The tiny snakeskin slippers were found in the trash of a painting studio four years ago, they were cleaned-up and stuffed to fill-out their original shape, then packed in a box and put on a shelf in the studio. The pebbles were all collected on a beach in Oregon in 1983, they were stored in a container in the studio with the occasional one removed and used as part of an artwork. One morning in 2018 woke up and realized the two materials needed to be used together for a sculpture. Filled the slippers with the pebbles and made the limestone base for them to sit upon. A metaphorical tale of our journeys through life and all the stones we get in our shoes along the way . . .
