About The Artwork
Panel, map "Atlas" wall, steel, backlit Light project, panel-map "Atlas" based on "Atlas of Mercator from 1630" The front side is a solid sheet of steel with a cut pattern. Manufactured by art CNC plasma cutting. Metal thickness 3 mm. Luminaires LEDx60 / m 5m 30W / m 12V daylight (71697 NLS-5730), 3300 lm / m, branded ones are inserted. Control with dimmer-remote control included. Various glow options. When making world maps from sheets of steel, I always wanted to make an old map. I really liked the "Atlas of Mercator from 1630". On its basis, I drew vector images for six months, made a sketch of the project, put all the images together and stylized them in antique style. Then I made a cutting program, cut out plasma on CNC and began to process and adjust everything. Within three months everything was ready. Coating, oxidation "Rust".

Biography of the sculptor Peter Zhukov I am Petr Zhukov, a hereditary artist, sculptor, jeweler. We are a family of sculptors. Since childhood, I have helped parents in their work. Whether they were working with metal, forging steel, or punching copper. They were cut down from huge elms or oaks, fabulous heroes of folklore. They molded and fired from clay. Everywhere I was interested. I helped carry the tool, held the work pieces, sharpened tungsten electrodes. So gradually I got involved in the creative process, fell in love with it and learned to understand the material with which I was working at that moment. My main activity profile is the creation of products from various metals. In different techniques and directions. Favorite techniques are metal-plastic, loft and papercraft.
