I was inspired by the human body. I created this object as a vessel and at the same time as a figure, abstract representation of a person. We are a vessel for our thoughts, emotions, feeling. What is inside? How are we carrying ourselves? I used terra cotta clay, glazed with low fired dark olive/green/metalic look glaze with some unglazed parts.

I am inspired by nature, by the everyday, by small moments, by stories, big and small adventures. Most of my work has a bit of story to tell, some humor, some impossible and possible, some surprises. I present my world to you as I see it. My ceramic pieces are hand built, mostly pinched and coiled. I like soft organic form and touch, movement and texture. It is all about simple, often classical, primitive forms and texture. I am fascinated by ancient pottery. The observation during museum visits in South America and Europe opened my eyes to the beauty of ancient forms. I create contemporary ceramic with ancient feel. Creating pottery for me is a pathway to self-discovery, self-realization , soul and healing. All of my pieces are unique and one of a kind. I hand build my pieces with pinched and coiling techniques. It is very slow and meditative process. I contemplate on passing of time, early people who created extraordinary work, my dialoque with clay and form beign shaped. Irregular texture and shape, the marks of my hands and touch are part of my work and that should be embraced. My artwork is an extension of me, my hope is that my customers will feel that in my work.
