Art Description

Sculpture: glass, Metal on Glass, Aluminium, Paper.

Made from hand blown glass and repurposed aluminum sourced from craft beer cans and painted in enamel paints. The work sits on top of a small white wooden pedestal and has an organic surreal plant-like form.

The series has a more representative aspect to it than most of my more abstract work. In this series I was thinking about plant-life and how it may adapt and change due to Climate Change and the more drastic environments they need to survive in. I imagined plants forming bulbs to store water for drought prone regions, and this is where the bulb-like forms made from glass came into the work.
