Tabitha was born in Gainesville, Florida, and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She is now living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, working as an artist and teaching art at Instituto Allende, one of the oldest art schools in the country.Tabitha's work reflects her fascination with nature in all of it's forms. She prefers to work with natural materials such as stone, paper, wood, and metal. Her work focuses and expands on the inherent beauty of each material that she works with. She likes to contrast the natural textures and colors of each medium with those created by the artist's hand. She considers her work to be a collaboration between nature and the artist. "My sculpture reflects an intense relationship between myself and the material with which I am working. This relationship is based on my reactions and responses to the material, the marks I make in it, and my own ideas. I continue to learn about myself and my material as the relationship progresses. For me, art is an intensification of nature. By this I mean that my art is the process of taking from a natural object, the qualities which seem most beautiful to me, and expanding those qualities to create a sculpture or painting."
