ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Positive Space / Negative Space is a reflection of the ever changing state of mind encountered during a seven year stay in HM Prison, spending up to 23 hours per day locked in a cell. The ‘bunk’ is a place where many hours would be spent thinking of one’s home life left beyond the wall or the lesser one being made within. Those thoughts culminate in giving one the strength to face the next day and all it may bring, or push one toward a darker place little hope of return.
