ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This table top dress sculpture was created in conjunction with my 100 days 100 dresses project. It was formed from discarded thread bare fabric and a concrete mix turning it into a delicate looking yet solid sculpture. This empty dress embodies the idea of raw beauty, fabric flower adornment from the threads of her life, pieces that would have been discarded, but with a small amount of attention, have turned into her defining feature. We have the ability to take the threads of our lives and sculpt them into a new narrative, taking back the power that loss and shame steal.
