About The Artwork
Red Loop was inspired by a small found object. It is a 30 times plus enlargement of a small rusty metal ring found in a scrap metal yard many years ago. It had an inherent beauty that I found inspirational, thus resulting in this much larger "pop art" version. It is firmly bolted to a sturdy wood(MDF)gallery quality base (indoor only). The piece itself is perfectly suited to the outdoors as well as in. It is constructed of welded stainless steel pipe,high grade filler, epoxy primer, then heavily coated with industrial urethane enamel which is polished to a glass like surface.
