A lovely girl on her thoroughbred smiles over a fence at a young man in his beautiful type 55 Bugatti. She looks ready for a race. He just “happens” to have a picnic basket with a bottle of wine on the seat beside him. Ettore Bugatti was from a family of artists and engineers. His father Carlo was a visionary interior designer and furniture designer, his brother Rembrandt was a famous sculptor and his son Jean designed some of the most beautiful vehicles the world has seen. Ettore’s automobiles were splendidly and expensively built to the most advanced specifications. His street and race cars differed only in bodywork and through the 1920’s and early 30’s their race wins were unparalleled. The type 55 featured Buggatti’s type 51 supercharged dual overhead cam straight eight, with finned cast aluminum wheels in a lovely body designed by Jean Bugatti. It was a 1930’s supercar. In addition to building the finest, most costly automobiles, Ettore loved horses. He raised them, rode them, and designed his own saddles and riding apparel. The distinctive Bugatti grille was inspired by a horseshoe.

Steve learned to drive on a Ford tractor, before building his own car in his teens. That first car was a 1933 Plymouth with a Corvette V8 engine – loud, fast, overheated, wouldn’t stop.. – a hot rod!! Good training for a mechanically minded artist! Steve is savy with many mediums. Creating his masters from wood, renshape, various metals and clay, his understanding of many materials has created a natural path in offering sculptures, in other materials as well. Posson Sculpture works closely hand in hand with his partner, Liselotte Bjorck Posson, creating and producing all types of awards and gift solutions for exciting events and venues.
