Alexandra Mowday is a Sydney based designer and artist who enjoys working intuitively, arranging and assembling shapes with exuberant colour. She is inspired by the built environment with all its shapes, shadows, corners and forgotten spaces. Her artistic life is an unfolding story of art, architecture and music. As a director of the Queen Man Design Studio, she is able to explore shape, form and function at its largest scales. As a painter, she is able to test ideas of pure composition at its most abstract. Music is the thread that weaves throughout her work and her life. Her work explodes with energy. Whether exploring the built environment or an abstract painting, she strives to move beyond the constraints of the edges and inhabit all the surrounding spaces.
