ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Angelique always tries to make the woman look at herself. Surrealism is added through abstract natural materials. In doing so, the artist adds an alienation that puts the viewer on a different track. Away from the beaten path of traditional model studies. It also indicates the conflict that women often have. The dichotomy between head and heart, between work and home, but above all Cremers wants the woman to be in her power. Looks at oneself with love and self-confidence.

Angelique Cremers is a visual artist by profession. After attending the art academy in Genk, she has now been working as an independent artist for many years. She views it as an enormous challenge to depict life in all its beauty. The wonder of being, in all its phases, fascinates her. As a former Miss Holland, she know the impact of beauty better than anyone. "The picture always had to be perfect. Appearance can still be beautiful, but it's all about the core". True power is found in inner beauty. Exhibit: Her work is represented by various galleries in the Netherlands and abroad, as well as at international art fairs. Sculptures. Her bronze sculptures are designed based on real life model studies. After this, other materials are added to the core clay images to create a certain emotion through abstraction and alienation. The final work is cast in bronze á çire perdue. A large part of my images consist of female figures. Women looking inward, eyes subtly closed or blindfolded. As a visual artist, perfection for her lies in imperfection. Frayed edges, both physical and emotional, are part of this, and therefore also in her work process.
