In 2011 I started a new hobby: a course in working with precious metals. The course was taught by two retired, very experienced workers in precious metals. It appeared to be a real vocational training with emphasis on mastering multiple techniques and working very precisely. The discipline fascinated me. Soon I discovered that, apart from jewellery, I could also create three-dimensional objects and statuettes, using the same techniques. I like perfecting techniques and investigating possibilities. Sometimes I stumble upon surprising things, with a scale of new possibilities. This way, every piece of work becomes a new adventure. In 2015 I rounded off the course and arranged a workplace of my own. I work with several materials, like silver, brass, copper and nickel silver. Sometimes I also use (precious) stones, mirrors and synthetics.
