Exploring the underwater world, its hierarchy and mythology, the artist turns to the image of the shark. The ancient predator, who the viewer would hardly wish to meet face to face in reality, freezes in front of us in motion: the open mouth signals the readiness to attack. Kulikov considers the variability of psychological interpretation of this image, provoking the spectator to have personal associations: the duality of threat and natural power, the suggestion of fear and a sense of power becomes a mediator between the spectator and the object of art.
