This little shy lady is trying not to be noticed, preferably to become invisible, like we sometimes do. She is looking down sideways not to make eye contact. I make little ladies. This is one of my favorites. You can feel her discomfort. I am very pleased with how the glazing turned out on her. She is a real treasure

I mostly make little women Ik maak vrouwtjes Mostly out of clay, but I love casting them in bronze or sculpting out of stone. I suppose my little women are me, but they turn out exactly the way they want. Shy, bored, seriously pissed off, it is surprising to me how expressive they are. My inspiration come from the great sculpture such as Marino Marini and Charlotte van Palandt.
