Slave to the System, Slave to the Heart Sculpture

As is often the case, I have a natural inclination & inspiration to use mood, method, craft, time & purpose to fuse & animate materials & found objects. In this case, the said items were married into a collective meaning over time by choice, trial & error, & the essence of the composition was born by a thoughtfully pleasant surprise. The Art comprises of ancient Welsh oak, mahogany, fine copper fused within sandblasted glass, a hand made clay head from Togo, west African, an old plastic horse & a bird feeder with a brass heart shaped section cut from a Victorian fireplace set within it, an old iron chain & an antique key. I hope & trust the attracted viewer will feel some kind of primal empathy with the work.
