About The Artwork

Sculpture -2020 detachment As we all carry life's personal experiences and emotions deep within each of us. We are shaped by this and subconsciously it influences how we interpret our world. Most recently our world has been altered with the corona virus pandemic, I wanted to capture the emotions many of us had felt. The sculptures hands portray this by being tied, unable to touch or feel, or even entirely discarded. The implementation of masks shroud our facial expressions making society feel more abstracted, heads on the sculptures absent, body’s transcendent portraying the unconventional. My sculptures are made from concrete, I love the way this medium, once exposed to water and aggregate produces a material which is often seen the most predictable of building materials. My chosen method of using cement rather than traditional materials such as clay is more difficult to execute, but I often enjoy using unorthodox methods within all my works.

Rebecca Heyes Art I come from a creative and artistic background of painters, makers and designers. Art and design has been a lifelong hobby, and in 2010 I set up a small business up-cycling and making unique theatrical style furniture under the name of rebeccaheyesart successfully progressed into supplying boutique shops and hotels with my signature style furniture and artwork along with many pieces being featured as part of the set design on television programs and tv adverts.  Furniture 2010-2018 My Handmade and remodelled furniture collections are Inspired by a love of Antiquities and eclectic designs, my theatrical style is unconventional in an attempt to capture and explore the boundaries of perceived limitations within furniture and interior design. My signature colour pallet of mainly black and white along with vintage salvaged materials expresses a timeless simplicity and style to any interior. Artwork 2000-2020 My paintings are created through searching through my own conceptions, the resulting artworks are ambiguous enough to draw in personal experiences of the viewer. Painting allows me to explore and experiment with these emotions that transcend words and are often composed using both traditional mediums along with unorthodox mixed mediums to illustrate overlooked dispositions within ones self.
