Art Description

Sculpture: Paper on Paper, Plastic.

From the alchemical phrase meaning to dissolve and coagulate- that something must be broken down before it can be built up again. Here I refer to the process of self reflection and self consciousness- the looking in on one's self- in conjunction with Jungian ideas of alchemy and individuation- the need for individual elements of the psyche to be separated and analysed before they may be assimilated and the psyche may attain a higher level of wholeness.
charcoal on khadi paper- 7 sheets suspended within a perspex box.
