About The Artwork

My aim is to immerse the viewer in a space where we can dream... This geometry, experienced through the senses, resonates with the underlying energetic substructures residing in and around each of us, and has the potential of activating the often-dormant awareness we walk with of universal order, and the indwelling love, beauty, and grace of soul. The acrylic and mirror sculptures in the Polyhedron series allow me to express the perceptive geometry through the interplay of colorful geometric form along with it’s shadows and reflections. I continue my exploration of radiant and interactive spheres with luminescent acrylic and metallic colors that move and change as you move around them. Inspired by physics, urban architecture, or open nature, half-blinded by the intense sun, I personally experience everything I am exploring. Drawn to refracted light, and high energy Chroma, my compositions derive from interactions, exploring light and color, in a formal controlled geometry of Minimalism, using materiality. I relate faceting or simplification of geometric form, to the association of mechanization in our modern life. Futurist paintings fused the past and the present, but the multiplicity overlays in my work blend time and space distorting our views, and questioning our perceived reality. As the viewer moves or surrounding light conditions alter, these works seem to shift subtly, creating a complex spatial and temporal dynamic, allowing us a space to dream and practice infinity.

I was born In Teheran, Iran to Armenian parents. I left at a young age with my sibling to study in England. Growing up in Sussex and London, I achieved my undergraduate degree in Interior Architecture from London Metropolitan University, but later moved to the US with my family. My first career was as an interior designer and colorist for Silicon Valley giants and later in Los Angeles for theme park design included themed retail and restaurants as well as Show Set on award winning attractions for major Hollywood studios. I decided to become an independent artist and concept designer, employing my visual creative skills in color, material and design, and exploring ideas more fully as an artist in multiple disciplines including painting and photography, sculpture and installation. My works are in public and private collections in USA, Japan, Peru, UK, France, UAE, as well as museums in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Chicago. My interest in laws of symmetry and spatial projection allowed me to explore the relationship between materiality, illusionistic and literal space. My work is a personal expression of my lifelong fascination with visual and emotional effects of color, light and shadow, negative space, and the changing alignment of form as one's viewpoint changes. Inspired by nature and personal experience, my recent sculptures and installations explore the concepts of color, space, movement and transition. Through a meticulous and careful process I strive to create unique works of art of great visual impact, processing the potential of seemingly infinite complexity and exquisite beauty. I innovate with methods, mediums and machines, to develop my ideas, in the physical creation of a drawing, painting, a dimensional sculpture, or an entire immersive environment. As a dreamer and storyteller I have worked on award winning theme parks creating an experiential narrative based on films or stories - my art continues this tradition as it excites and gives energy to a place where you can dream and transcend into a meditative place to heal and connect in a higher spiritual domain - a place where you can question, drift and wander... a place of refuge and relaxation - a meditative place with balanced and minimal stimulus to feel good and enjoy the sweetness of life- where you can learn to walk in beauty !
