About The Artwork
Organic Modern and Abstract Wall Decoration Art object crafted in Spain and conformed of geometric patterns made by Gabriela de Sagarminaga. It is inspired in nature and the term geometry, which aludes to earth measures, a sign of needed proportionality in our lifestyle. With this piece, we also intend to create natural landscapes in interiors that enrich our vision of interior spaces and elevate our well-being. It is perfect for collectors seeking natural textures, luminosity and craftsmanship savoir-faire. This art objet can be combined with Spring wall decoration. Additional components: it can be converted into an illuminated artwork by incorporating a structure with LED lamps on its back (upon request). Materials: it is made from a spanish traditional fiber, called esparto grass on a beech platform. It was created with local materials. Dimensions: 80 H x 70 W x 10 D (cm). Weight: 3.5 kg. Production times: as the piece is crafted manually, it requires a process of realization of 4-5 weeks from the purchase order. Installation: This artwork has been designed to be installed indoors. The piece is light and includes a hanging system. To suspend it is necessary to make a hole in the wall. In 2017, I, Gabriela de Sagarminaga, set up Sagarminaga Atelier, an art and craft studio born from an illusion: to collect an ancestral tradition, that of the artisan work of vegetable fibers, to design and produce exclusive and timeless pieces, and to create spaces with great expressive value. I aim to create objects that have something behind them, a story of their own. There is a reason to explain the purpose of existence of our crafts which explain the beginning of their storytelling. Since I tasted the heartwarming activity of handcrafting with vegetable fibers, I've been fascinated by their qualities and contrasts, their lightness and their intensity and its ductility. I am seduced by their meanings and their ability to convey sensations, to talk about culture and traditions, and to create links between past and present, between people and their environments. As such I believe and seek to create timeless pieces and in lived spaces that are entangled and involved with the languages and emotions of each of the people who participate in them. I like balance and volume, gaps, quality and rhythm, raw and aesthetic. Geometry, Tilt, and Overlap are engraved signs of identity. An exciting adventure.
