Study in organic shape and form Sculpture

Driven by a continued love for organic form and a desire to meld this with naturally occurring materials, the artist embarked to enrich this piece of mahogany to accentuate its natural grain and cracks. Using the signature half-round marks and their sharp angular texture as its starting point, they approached the idea of juxtaposing the 'face' with a light, softness along the live-edged side. The asymmetry between the finishes of the two edges also encourages the viewer to look a little closer. As usual, this piece is designed to be touched. Running your fingers through the softness of the live-edge, borders on sensual. It is recommended that this would be wall mounts and if preferred, to have it lit from one side to give prominence to the various differing natural forms.
