About The Artwork
Susie was created from a Mesquite tree burl. After some study, it became evident a sea lion wanted to emerge. After removing bark, wood carving, sanding to 2000 grit, and hand rubbed with three coats of natural oil, Susie came to life. A bowl like recess was created in the center. The bowl received two coats of acrylic paint and finished with a clear bar top resin. The piece is intended for displa,y or can be functionally used to hold fruit, vegetables or other condiments. Susie is at home on your dining table or anywhere in your home decor. Enjoy Susie the Sea Lion!
