"TRc07-09-2014 tray-cloth" belongs to the project "Tabula Rasa". The precise moment captured, the petrified movement, the transformed track. The bas relief is made from transparent objects. The projected shadows are the only witnesses of the presence of these objects. It is not flat but has a light wavy movement. It is a ceramic in high-temperature stoneware. A fixing ring is planned to hang on the wall.

I was born near Paris in 1967. I live in Lyon, France, since 2005. My work answers a personal necessity: simplify, cut, and remove all which is superfluous to keep only the main part. I recompose with diverse materials such as molded paper, ceramic... Assembling is my modus operandi and also a way to structure my thought. In this project I try to pursue the dialectic between the presence of the object, the subject, its representation and the way to show it, answering to a constant necessity. It appears in the projected shadows that draw and model the work. And it is at this unbearable limit that it comes true and takes its entire dimension and its meaning. I’m interested as different works as photograms of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, the book of Tanizaki Jun'ichirô : “l’éloge de l’ombre”, paintings of Simon Hantaï, “combustions” of Christian Jaccard, James Turrel, …
