Sculpture, Wood on Stone
Size: 12 W x 72 H x 12 D in
Ships in a Crate
This sculpture is inspired by the elegance of a human spine combined with a narrow leaf. This sculpture has undertones of creation and religion vs abiogenisis. Sculpture has a polished Labradorite 'eye' that could symbolize a galaxy. This sculpure has preserved carbonized wood which symbolizes the building blocks of life but in the shape of valcanoes and mountains as they are growing from a red planet (molten planet). The longer this sculpture is viewed one may lean towards the idea of creation although it may seam like a simple depiction of abiogenisis and randomness.

Date of Birth: Jan 3,1977 Im formally trained in drawing, sculpture and animation; I now create fold formed leaf spine hybrids out of recycled industrial metal whether it be a jet plane fusalage; brass pole or copper tube I select recycled materials as part of the message. Most of my sculptures are general human existance based depictions (the human condition) often in conjunction with climate change they may be the story of Easter Island, love, famine, families etc; themes of symbiosis and harmony with the world might be seen in my sculptures. The style of my sculptures are surreal, they are often a combination of plants, creatures, musical instruments, vehicles etc.I've always liked art, it was always my favorite subject in school as far as I remember. After all of the computer classes and proffesions since 1999 e.g. 3D modelling, animation and multimedia, visual effects I have decided to return to the basics.I guess I just love physical dimentional art. I've worked breifly in the gamming industry (x-Box/playstation).Produced an illustration for published psychiatricbook "Primal Minds Primal Games" and have worked as a graphic designer in signage. My hobbies and interests include kayaking, herbalism, mushroom hunting, psychiatry, evolution, creation
