Tea Time Sculpture

What inspired this sculpture was the concept of the narratives that can be associated with a cup of tea. Through research by asking the question “what is your most memorable cup of tea?” Was met with a variety of responses. Some story were an average reminiscence of a cup of tea in the morning or next to a log fire in the evening. The majority of responses were tied to a narrative that was out of the ordinary. Times were recalled where there was a car accident and they were given a sugary cup of tea for the shock, or news was received that was grave or great. This sculpture is a reminder that even through great times of separation and diverse opinions there will always be things that reunite us and hold us as a collective. In this case it was a simple cup of tea.
