About The Artwork

This work represents a ghost ship filled with Barbie dolls and attacked by the Queen of the Abyss, The Wyvern represented by this serpent-tailed chimera. In the sand in the middle is a pile of Barbie dolls that I melted to exaggerate the plastic side of these dolls. This pile of melted plastic dolls is for me a metaphor for the superficiality of many women currently in this world on social networks and Instagram, I criticize there this search at all costs to plasticize the body by fitting prostheses because it unifies the population and causes everyone to lose their authenticity. That's why this pile of dolls all identical and without real personalities. It is also to show how polluted the ocean is, as we know these days. The Wyvern, the Nocturnal Chimera, is like a witch who can transform matter, the plastic doll therefore becomes a much more authentic puppet. The indistinguishable and empty Barbie is therefore transformed into an atypical, unique puppet, the work of the Wyvern. So I want to show there that it is by going deep, into our own depths, our interior that we find our own authenticity and unique treasures. Being unique and accepting our personal flaws such as those of a valuable puppet makes us more important than conforming to the norm of what society would want, that is for women, the "perfect body". "plastic. A plastic Barbie doll is however much less expensive than certain puppets, old authentic dolls.

My name is Laura but I am nicknamed Luna, notice the two correspond to me well because I have if I may say "Lunar aura". When I was little I was quite shy, and sometimes even today I am rather (at first sight) discreet, more into observation, gentleness, daydreaming, but as the moon hides during the day, she is at night that we see shine... this is precisely where many have trouble understanding me because I have many facets. It is precisely this elusive side, this apparent fragility which hides in fact a great temerity, it is what makes my personality difficult to define, just like my sculptures. I like people to perceive me (me and also my sculptures) as a mysterious woman, it is not a peculiarity that one can play, one is or one is not, and with me it is is innate. I like secrets, I like mysteries, hence my lunar side, I am attracted to the occult. What I really like about this particularity is that it allows you to know how to surprise better, and I have fun with it in my art as well. I would say that I have a rather complex personality, as a lunar and true "child woman", I have a lot of imagination and I am very passionate. I am passionate about sculpture, I have been doing it for a few years and I bring out all my inner world. I'm also a big fan of puppets, I think it's due to the fact that I see myself a little through them... Sometimes whimsical and magical, sometimes a little dark; sometimes childish, sometimes old souls; sometimes soft and discreet. I specify that it is the very first sculpture of my series that I show publicly, the others remain still secret for the moment.
