About The Artwork
The Hope Project. This work should be understood as a representation of a desirable future for children, the world could belong to them. I have always preferred to paint with acrylic, a texture that dries quickly and mixes easily with the natural elements that make up my work. I adapt different techniques depending on the medium and the artistic expression desired for each work. The subjects of my work can be just aesthetic or profound but always important, to evoke emotion. Some of my paintings or wall sculptures may have more weight than one of my works that deals with more superficial subjects. The originality of the representations in volumes (old walls with exposed stones) by their form, their support can also be a determining factor, because a work which stands out by its creativity and its singularity can have a stronger impact on the spectator.

The first inspiration for Thierry Legrand’s paintings comes from the impact of the sunlight on walls in urban spaces. He then use the structure of these reconstitute walls and the layers of paint, plays on textures and the element of the world in order to reproduce the visual effect of the distortion of the walls to create a new way to perceive images and feelings.
