Sculpture made from reclaimed timber,Made for the Charlbury show in Oxfordshire 2017. It is number 10. The note says "back in 5 mins",this was at the time of the general election therefore the lights are on but theres nobody home. I added a note to the door everyday of the show,with references to different political events hi lighted by the press and social media but have since removed all but one as the rest don't any longer seem relevant. Light shining through the cracks and key hole in the door at night. perhaps this is a self portrait?

George Lewis born in Holland in 1972, is an artist working from Spelsbury, Oxfordshire. My subject matter comes from current affairs,media,online social media and Facebook. The form comes mainly from cartoons and comics as well as other artists influence.I have always used reclaimed materials gathered along the way from back gardens to Blenheim Palace estate. The source of the timber and the type of timber have a significance to the piece of work.I also use metals and plastics reclaimed where possible. I want my work to be accessible,and uncomplicated in its initial viewing,and sometimes funny. I hope you enjoy it.
