The Space Invader is piece #189 from the RockofAJs Collection. It is one of the few rocks that I painted both sides and gives a 360 degree view when placed in the proper location. This piece is the first where I implemented balance in order to display it. The stand it balances on has outcrops built into it in order to support the rock while it balances. It is very important that this piece is displayed in a location that is free from all movement. Any excessive vibrations or movement of the piece while it is standing could cause it to fall.
I chose to paint this rock because of its unique characteristics and it wasn't until after I painted the first side that I discovered it was able to balance on its own. After this discovery I decided to paint the other side and create the custom stand in order to support it properly.
Because it was my first attempt at balancing a rock, the trials and tribulations this piece went through were taxing on the piece. It actually fell once during the process and broke in half. Luckily I was able to repair the piece to bring it back to its original form. Therefore I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep this rock safe from any excess movement while displaying it.
In order for the Space Invader to balance correctly you must find its direct balance point when setting it on its stand. There is only one way for this piece to balance on its stand properly without falling. Therefore it requires a lot of patience and easy touch during setup. I will provide the purchaser with a Youtube link to watch a how to video I created showing the proper way to balance the rock on its stand. Once you get it balancing properly in a safe location you can experience its beauty without worry!
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions prior to purchase.

I call it the Space Invader because once side the invader is present and the other is his ship!
