About The Artwork

Delusion is the act of deluding oneself. It is viewed as a fictitious belief of one’s reality. The series, Delusion, questions the falsity of delusion. It asks what is delusion and is reality a delusion. It hypothesises that by way of deluding oneself, we change our reality. Making delusion a path to factuality. The edges are unclear, is the first in the series. It is the embodiment of the delusion of which I live.

Born 1977, Melboune, Australia. Nives Zorzut is a self taught artist, working with reclaimed objects and steel water pipe. The artist, primarily has been making functional art pieces by integrating lighting with sculpture on commission and displaying them at local outlets. Nives's aim is to create meaningful conversation through art and is studying fine arts to help gain the discipline needed to become a professional artist. Nives is currently working with a technique she calls metal brushstrokes. Where steel water pipe is hand bent, cut into lengths and used as individual brushstrokes, forming her line weld by weld. " I use the arc welding method to fill the gaps between the beautiful curved steel pipe. I feel each weld captures who i am the uniqueness the individuality, its all there in my welds, the learning, the story I am creating."
