The second column 2018 Sculpture

Miniaturized grotesques and ornamental details intertwine into an organic, tendril-like column in a geometric space. Animal and plant bodies merge in the confusing of shapes in a cheerful round dance. Provisionally wedged with coarse wooden blocks into the Euclidian structure, the tendril forms an irrational continuum in which meaning, purpose and logic seem to be generating. The sculptor Miriam Lenk addresses in her art an anti-ideal of humanist bourgeois culture and puts that at the center of her works. She created an image of the pleasure of the human that oscillates between an overflowing weight and light well-being, both ingratiating and vexing.“ Ulrike Pennewitz 2016
