Art Description

Sculpture: Glass, Metal and Wood on Glass, Iron and Wood.

Three one-of-a-kind forms of free blown, hot shaped, opaque Venetian glass of black colour obtained by processing multiple layers. The textured surface obtained almost does not reflect light, but rather absorbs it so that the black three-dimensional forms are meant to be, and are actually perceived as sculptural presences. Indeed, they are metaphors for life. Each of these glass forms is placed onto an iron rotating pin, fitted into one shared walnut base.
This installation fully expresses the idea of the artist as agent in the interpretive process, something which I believe is true. “Once my piece of work is completed, my own creative path turns to an end. Yet, at that point the dialogue between the piece itself and the viewer will give new breath of life to my work of art: in an endless experiential cycle, perception stirs emotion, memory, and cognition.”
