About The Artwork

TITANOMACHIA (The war of the Gods against the titans) These works are part of a series of works that draw inspiration from what remains of decorative friezes that adorned the temples of ancient Greece. Made with marble from the quarries of Mount Pentelic originally they were colorful and represent scenes from the myth, gods or legendary heroes the echo of whose feats, through the millennia, had come up to us. Disappeared the Gods, faded away the Heroes, forgotten the Miths currently remains only their names, often used for trivial consumer products or atmospheric phenomena. To realize these friezes in a modern version it seems to me more right replace the marble with waste materials because they are easy to find and they are both iconic metaphor of the cultural and moral decay of the modern society
