Sculpture, Bronze on Bronze
Size: 5.9 W x 7.5 H x 3.1 D in
Ships in a Box
Bronze sculpture Torso is inspired by human body. In this work I was trying to make human torso abstract and to leave associations free. I used wax for modelling this form and then casted it into bronze. I liked the thought of leaving the form open on the back side, as if it is a piece of paper modelled by the wind- few blows here and there and there it is- a human! The surface is, on the other hand, rich with scrathes, marks and bumps, and they are saying: I lived a life.

Croatia
Professional freelance artist, graduated from Academy of Fine arts, Zagreb, Croatia. I was born in Zagreb, Croatia. My maiden name is Haramina, so some of my older works here are signed with Iva Haramina. I usually use both surnames when exibit. In my work I am inspired by my inner intimate world, and trying to communicate with my self through art. Nature plays big part in my work, specialy woods and trees which connect me with my childhood and time I spent in nature with my parents. Whenever I need to reconnect with myself to do some new work, I go to woods with my dog and listen to what trees have to tell me :) Since the time I graduated on Academy, my work and materials I use changed a lot and are still changing. I displayed some older works here on my Saatchi profile to show how many different styles and materials I use. Studying sculpture gave me a lots of choices and I am still experimenting. Soon after graduation I started working with linen and textiles, fabric manipulation and photography (lomo and old cameras are my favourites). In 2015 I started a ceramics brand Paprat Art by Iva Milinkovic (you can find it on Facebook) and displayed two of my plates here. Recently, as I became a mother, I went back to painting and drawing and I hope to have a new series of works that I will display here soon. I am working with fabrics, sewing, paint, clay, wool, wire, any material that is right for me in the moment of creation. I live and work in Zagreb, Croatia, with my husband, son and dog :) Feel free to look at my profile on Behance too.
