ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The latest additions to my Heart of Stone series continue to explore the complex layers of emotion, resilience, and connection. These hand-built ceramic hearts are shaped not only by clay but by the visceral emotions that come from healing—physically and spiritually. Each piece is a deeply personal response to the state of the world and the delicate balance between light and darkness that we all navigate. This season, I've pushed the boundaries of texture and surface design. You'll find a striking mix of glossy metallic reductions and raw, natural finishes, each heart telling its own story. Whether it's the cool, reflective surfaces or the warmth of stone-like textures, these new hearts invite viewers to connect, reflect, and feel. I believe that the heart, as a symbol, speaks to everyone in different ways, and I hope these pieces evoke conversations about empathy, vulnerability, and our shared humanity. Creating this series has been both exhilarating and exhausting, but it's a labor of love. It’s my way of expressing emotions that words often can’t capture—though those who know me know that I’ll happily try! I’m excited to present these new works at this fall’s art fair, and I can’t wait to see how people interact with and interpret the latest hearts in the collection.

Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, Jessamyn earned a Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from New York University. In 2018 Jessamyn began her journey in the craft of ceramics. In 2019 she transitioned from a 20+ year career in luxury retail management to ceramics full time. Jessamyn's distinctive artistic style quickly gained local acclaim, leading to wholesale partnerships and opportunities to teach public ceramic workshops and private sessions in her studio. She is actively involved with several artist organizations, including the Clay Art Guild in Watermill, NY, The Montauk Art Association, The South Bay Art Association, Guild Hall, The Patchogue Arts Council, and Gallery North. Her work has garnered international attention, with her Femme Sole Signature Collection showcased at prestigious exhibitions such as 1000 Vases in Paris and Milan in 2022, and Red Dot Miami. Jessamyn has also received four 1st Place awards and exhibited her art at notable venues including the Every Woman Biennial, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The Parrish Art Museum, The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn, Guild Hall and various galleries and museums across Long Island. In addition to her ceramics, Jessamyn is a founding member of the Mastic Beach Conservancy. She serves on the board and the fundraising committee, organizing events to support their conservation initiatives. Jessamyn Go's commitment to artistry, education, and environmental conservation continues to inspire and impact both the artistic and local communities.
