Xu Bin's modern sculpture, titled "Two Prickly Nuts," captures the essence of nature's bounty and the importance of being mindful when partaking in it. The sculpture features two large and detailed nuts that have fallen to the ground, their prickly shells contrasting with the smooth texture of the surrounding surface. The nuts are highly realistic, with intricate details that highlight their rough exterior and the sharp thorns that can be dangerous if not handled with care. They are a reminder that nature can be both beautiful and dangerous, and that we must approach it with respect and caution. The sculpture also invites contemplation on the idea of receiving gifts from the earth. The nuts are a representation of the natural abundance that surrounds us.Through this piece, Xu Bin encourages us to be mindful and respectful of the gifts that nature offers, and to approach them with gratitude and care. The realistic details of the nuts and their prickly shells draw attention to the delicate balance that exists in nature, and the need to be aware of the potential dangers that can arise if we do not handle it with care.

China
I was born in 1969 in Guang'an, Sichuan, China. I graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Southwest Normal University and became a freelance artist afterwards. My early works were mainly oil paintings, influenced by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists such as Monet and Seurat. Through continuous learning and creative practice, I gradually integrated the artistic essence of Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Chagall and other artists, and combined with my own Chinese cultural background to develop my own mature artistic style.
