Born Adelaide, South Australia James L Marshall is an emerging artist living and working between Los Angeles and Australia. Marshall recently completed his MFA at the South Australian School of Art and is active within the international ARI community. Marshall is a Co-Director of FELTspace in Adelaide, Australia and Assistant Director (in residence) at RAID Projects, Los Angeles. Marshall's current work explores the translation of cinematic tropes into still visual artefacts. Studio experiments utilize cinematic triggers, without implementing linear narrative, to explore different readings and 'real life' connections to the fantasy of cinema.
