About The Artwork
I've always been fascinated by the existence of the robots from the comics of my youth, the retro style of something that even today with all our technology we cannot manufacture. Robots with a sense of humour and character, robots with a darker side. I have mounted 'Uromys Rex' in a modified french baroque frame, with rat head emblems in the corners to compliment the subject, 'Uromys Rex' or 'King Rat' the frame is lightly distressed to offer a almost functional everyday 'feel' as a robot is indeed intended as an everyday tool. This particular fellow has dark hollows for eyes, indicating he has long since departed.
