About The Artwork

Sculpture: Paper mache and Paint on Paper. Vos (= Dutch for fox) – It started all with our real dog, a Jack Russell Parson Terrier (longer legs) Larry. He was the sweetest dearest friend, we have the best of memories. He was everything a dog should be: naughty, sweet, playful, tough, cute, jumpy, relaxed. All characteristics we recognise in people too. That is why we love these animals. The result of this project is 27 dogs of paper maché made of quality Dutch newspapers: Trouw (= Dutch for faithfully). That is why I called this project: “Finished Reading dogs”. Dogs are so inventive, patient, loyal, innocent, trusting, loving and always there for you. They wiggle their tails the moment they see you. And they are always glad to see you! Now there are 27 dogs in total and this family will still be growing. Vos has a big preference for the Chanel slipper opposed to an old sneaker so this dog has style. Dogs are in my heart. My home is only too small for all of them, they were breaking out. Vos is the easiest pet to keep as he never needs a veterinarian if you are going on vacation he can watch over your house. No walks in the middle of the night in the rain. He needs No food nor drink. Or dog tax.” Please have a look at the whole large extended family by clicking on this link: http://www.albelli.nl/onlinefotoboek-delen/17e999d0-8cbf-4946-a7ea-4ce19522b202

About Diana Friedmann Dutch born in Amsterdam and lives here now. Her life is all about creating things. Diana’s work references the work of expressionism. She makes paintings, drawings or sculptures; with her creations she tries to give a never-ending surprise and loves to entice curiosity; The urge of creating comes from deep within trying to capture thoughts, feelings and emotions about life. The Paper maché Dog project was inspired by Larry, a lovely Jack Russell terrier. Dogs are as all animals pure and innocent, sweet, joyful and most faithful. Her work is fast, impatience and radiates enthusiasm. Diana: “Every stroke of my brush and each nip in the paper-maché was intended. My mission is to make and create colorful things that express emotion and authenticity. My paper-maché Dogs are my babies, I love them all to bits” unfortunately my house is too small and they were climbing the walls. They are the easiest pets to keep as they do never need a veterinarian if you are going away they can watch over your house. No walks in the middle of the night in the rain. They need No food nor drink. Or dog tax .”
