About The Artwork
Icon of St Sava The Serbian in Orthodox Greek-Byzantine style. The three crosses in Serbian Orthodox style are on the top of the icon. Left to figure of the Saint are the Serbia Cyrilic letters "Св Сава" (St Sava). There is a carved verse from The St Sava Hymn: "Да жививмо сви у слози, Свети Саво ти помози" (St Sava, help us all to live in unity). Unique handmade wood carving in Canadian nut tree. Carved in 2014. Dimensions 51 x 34 cm (20in x 13 in), weight 3.4 kg. Carved by young and talented carpenter Ivan Svilenkovic from Serbia.
