Visual artist Born 1945 in Zurich, Switzerland / Domiciled in France since 1991 1978-1981 F+F (school for Art and Media Design), Zürich/Switzerland 1981-1988 HfbK (high school for visual arts), Hamburg/Germany (with diploma) Art studies at age of 33 years - see above. During these years she participated in various exhibitions, performances and events in the playful and provocative style well known in Germany before and after the fall of the Berlin wall. Since 1992 she lives and works in Barjols located in Provence France. For the last 15 years color has been the centre of her works. Different experiments were produced, always characterized by a critical view on society. Experiments with digital photography, film, installations and painting; analysis between figuration and abstraction. Beside graphical and digital areas the most different materials play a great role in Katharina's approach. This does not exclude a certain playful sense of mockery and humor which she inherited from her Swiss tradition and which peaked out in the Dada movement. Painting without the traditional tools like paint brush and canvas! A constant coming and going between the 2nd and 3rd dimension.
